Demi Cruz is a media professional with over 27 years of experience; born in the Dominican Republic, she takes great pride in her Latin roots. Throughout her career, she has worked with major media outlets, interviewing prominent figures from the political, social, and cultural spheres.

She is the founder of *Everything for a Smile* (Todo por una Sonrisa), a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive support to vulnerable children in countries such as Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Mexico by developing community programs, medical outreach events, and social aid campaigns.

She is currently the creator and host of “The Demi Cruz Show,” a platform dedicated to educating, inspiring, and empowering the Latino community through stories of faith, perseverance, and triumph over adversity.

I am originally from Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. From a young age, I discovered my passion for the performing arts, particularly through declamation and public speaking.

At 13, I had the opportunity to join *Jesus Christ Superstar*, directed by Refugio Hernández Ledezma. I remained part of that production for seven years, an experience that deeply shaped my love for acting and the stage.

At 15, I began my first radio program. I later pursued a bachelor’s degree in Communications, where I continued developing my skills in radio broadcasting, event hosting, and theater. Throughout my career, I had the privilege of working alongside and learning from accomplished professionals such as Jorge Robles, currently a stage director at Televisa; Tomás Urtusástegui, also associated with Televisa; and Medardo Treviño, an acclaimed theater director and writer.

Beyond the entertainment industry, I have always felt a strong responsibility to give back to my community. I participated in social initiatives dedicated to raising funds and obtaining medical equipment for children with cerebral palsy. Helping others has remained an important part of who I am.

Today, I am the proud owner of two spas and have earned 17 professional certifications in various fields, including Reiki Master, phlebotomy, cosmetology, laser hair removal, and family constellation work. While my professional journey has taken me in many different directions, acting has always remained my greatest passion. One of my biggest dreams is to return to the stage and continue pursuing the art that first inspired me as a
I started over from nothing and built a new life for myself. Today, I continue to face the challenges of living with fibromyalgia and the severe pain that comes with it. There are days when the pain is difficult to put into words, but I refuse to give up.

I am also a mother, and my children are my greatest motivation. I want them to see their mother as someone who never stopped fighting, no matter how difficult life became. Everything I do is with the hope that one day they will look at me and feel proud of their mom.

Gabriel Esparza is Publisher of Que Onda Magazine. Mr. Esparza has served in this capacity since 1993.
As Publisher, Mr. Esparza has worked with many record labels in promoting their artists. He has been
involved with the Houston Astros, Houston Dynamo, and the MLS in promotional events. Mr. Esparza
has also worked with Hispanic vendors to promote their products. Mr. Esparza was appointed to serve
on the Houston Read Commission by Mayor Annise Parker during her term as Mayor in Houston, Texas,
and has served on the Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Board during her term and currently with Mayor John
Whitmire. The Hispanic Advisory Board exists to serve as a liaison between the Hispanic community and
the Mayor. The Board provides recommendations on policies that will advance the economic, social, and
political issues of all Hispanics and citizens in the City of Houston. Mr. Esparza is also a media member of
the Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals (HAHMP). Mr. Esparza has been highly active in
serving the community during local elections. He has also spoken at numerous events and conferences.
