Following a journey along the Texas–Mexico border, the film explores the extraordinary landscape, wildlife, and communities of the region while considering the environmental impact of a border wall.

Foltz Fine Art is pleased to present What We Inherit: The Art and Legacy of Big Bend, a major exhibition bringing together generations of artists whose work has been profoundly shaped by one of America’s most extraordinary landscapes.

The exhibition explores Big Bend not simply as scenery, but as a place of relationship, memory, transformation, and inheritance—and considers what it means to preserve such a place for generations to come.

For generations, artists have answered that invitation. Together, these artists span generations and artistic traditions, revealing both continuity and change in the ways Big Bend has been seen, interpreted, and remembered. Painters, photographers, printmakers, and other artists have returned to the region not simply to depict its landscape, but to understand it.

More than an exhibition of landscape art, What We Inherit considers the enduring connections between art, conservation, and cultural memory. The exhibition celebrates not only Big Bend itself, but also the values the landscape inspires: wonder, resilience, curiosity, connection, and stewardship.

What We Inherit is ultimately about more than Big Bend. It is about the places that shape us, the artists who teach us to see them, the people whose vision preserved them, and the responsibility we share to carry that inheritance forward.

What we inherit is a gift. What we pass forward is a choice.

Best known in Houston as an art writer, curator, collector, and longtime advocate for Houston art history, Tibbits brings his deep engagement with art into his own needlepoint works, transforming the traditional medium through personal imagery and art historical references.

Extended through September 12th, HomeGoods explores the evolving relationship between contemporary art, design, and the spaces we inhabit.

Bringing together artists whose practices blur the boundaries between sculpture and function, the exhibition reveals how furniture, vessels, textiles, lighting, and domestic objects become sites of artistic inquiry. HomeGoods invites viewers to imagine the home as a living gallery where beauty, utility, craftsmanship, and contemporary art coexist within everyday life.

Foltz Fine Art is pleased to present Street Seen Vol. III, featuring “La Mer”, a window installation by Kate Mulholland.

Visible day and night in the gallery's Westheimer-facing windows, Street Seen brings contemporary art directly to the sidewalk—transforming the streetscape into a place for reflection and encounter.

Meaning "the sea," La Mer frames this installation as a meditation on time's fluidity. Like the ocean, time resists linear boundaries: currents overlap, tides return, and past and present continually reshape one another. Drawing from the life and work of Dora Maar, Mulholland reclaims narratives shaped by the Western male gaze, transforming them into symbols of trial, endurance, and something elemental, sovereign, and ungovernable.

La Mer will remain on view through October.
