🏆 Grand Jury Honorable Mention for Best Short Film: A Better Place 🏆

Congratulations to director Ali Sohail Jaura and the entire team of A Better Place for the Grand Jury Honorable Mention for Best Short Film at Rūng Film Festival 2026!

This tender and moving short film follows 7-year-old Jia, abandoned by her mother at a bus stop in Seoul, and an undocumented South Asian immigrant stranded in South Korea after an unsuccessful “Donkey Flight.” Through one difficult night, A Better Place captures the fragile hope, courage, and unexpected connection that can emerge between two people with nowhere else to turn.

We were honoured to screen A Better Place during this year's festival. Thank you to everyone who joined us in experiencing this powerful story of survival, compassion, and unlikely human connection!
