TERREBONNE FINE ARTS GUILD PRESENTS

TWO-DAY
INTRODUCTORY ART WORKSHOP
JOE GILLIAM --- INSTRUCTOR
Joe Gilliam, local artist/muralist, will teach a two-day introductory art course regarding sketching/portraiture.
The first day will feature instruction regarding sketching techniques.
The second day will focus on painting a portrait.
When: Friday, 6/26/26 from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm (sketching day)
Saturday, 6/27/26 from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm (painting day)
Where: 630 Belanger Street, Houma, LA

Cost: $50/person
Student is to provide his/her own materials (listed below)

11” x 14” sketch pad

R.I.P. Anthony Head 🙏🏽
February 20, 1954 – June 5, 2026

Anthony Stewart Head was an English actor and singer whose career spanned more than four decades. He was best known for portraying Rupert Giles in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, King Uther Pendragon in Merlin, and Rupert Mannion in Ted Lasso. He also appeared in numerous stage productions, television dramas, films, and radio programs, earning recognition for his versatility and enduring presence in British and international entertainment.

Head first gained widespread recognition in the United Kingdom through the popular Gold Blend coffee advertisements before establishing himself as a respected actor across television, theatre, and voice work. His performances made him a familiar and admired figure to audiences across multiple generations.

Anthony Head died peacefully from complications of pneumonia, surrounded by his family, according to a statement released by his daughters.

Anthony Head leaves behind a lasting legacy as one of Britain's most respected character actors. His portrayal of Rupert Giles became a defining role in television history, helping shape a generation of fantasy and drama storytelling. Through his work on screen and stage, he inspired audiences with performances marked by intelligence, warmth, and depth. His contributions to the entertainment industry will continue to be appreciated by fans and future generations alike.

The Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild will be holding an acrylic painting course, “Flowers in a Vase” with instructor, Blake Kiger. This will be held at our gallery, 630 Belanger Street in downtown Houma, behind Scarlet Scoop Ice Cream Shop. Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 9 a.m. to Noon. $25.00/person* --- includes all art supplies, i.e. paint, brushes, canvas *Payable in advance by 4 pm 2/20/26; non-refundable. Wear old clothes or bring an apron to protect your clothes. Please call 985-637-3894 for more information.
