This build stuttered, BSOD, not smooth, high end games hung up often. Customer wanted some hardware upgrades we would recommend. The customer built this 3-5 years ago: r7 5800x, 32GB DDR4, rtx 3080ti, 3 fan CPU cooler, quite a high end build at that time.

We said, "Not just yet, let's talk about it. Upgrading GPU would need 5080 or better (3080ti to 5070ti would be fine but lower number?!). Even with GPU traded in, would be $1300+. Keep 3080ti. Changing CPU to 5800x3d makes little sense but do-able if you insist. A major upgrade to r7 9850x3d, 32GB ddr5, AM5 MB will be $1200+. Left over CPU, DDR4 and MB don't get much trade-in value. Let us work on it without any hardware change first. You may be happy with the result. If you need hardware change, we'll call you.".

We removed 60+ virus infected files, 1200+ spyware infected files, picked up 4 Windows updates, reclaimed 30GB junk file space (where bad guys hide), updated 5 drivers, cleaned up startups, repaired Windows registry, etc. Stress tested while monitoring CPU and GPU temps.

He brought in at 10am, pickup same day at 3pm. No new hardware needed. He tested all his games, stutter free, very responsive, no more issues. We taught him how to maintain the PC. He promised to buy all his stuff from us in the future, maybe a whole new build if he can sell his in whole.

A few Unigine Heaven Benchmark results recently in our shop/lab. We like to standardize our testing/rating/stressing with the same one benchmark software to make the results comparable over many years. It takes 1 minute to download, 1 minute to install, 5 minutes to get results and it continues to stress run the build. We use many other benchmark software if needed, like 3Dmark, Cinebench, etc. Happy gaming.

This is our spreadsheet summary of the cost of a ddr5 build. There are a lot of ddr4 builds at great prices out there: Mail order, big box, Amazon, Newegg, used market, etc. Now Playstation 6 is delayed and Playstation 5 has raised prices, things changed somewhat. One possible cost savings: r5 9600x/air cooler. This will save $300 right off the bet. Dropping from 32GB to 16GB will be a last resort to save money. Happy gaming folks!

Top 5 pages of ranked GPUs with 5090 as 100%. These MSRPs were intended as launching prices, nowhere near what actual market prices are. AAA grade PC gaming (with 2K/4K gaming with ray tracing turned on, competition gaming with streaming) is not for some people's buy-one-part-each-paycheck-and-cry-for-ddr5. Nvidia announced 6### GPUs won't be until 2028. AMD announced a whole new model, an upgrade from the popular RX 9070xt-16GB, for 2027. Our wholesale sources have hinted GPU prices will continue to rise from current prices, 50% to 100%. We feel for those who are upgrading their gaming PC, the used GPUs will provide a good choice. That is, get a whole new build except the GPU or even keep your GPU (get 30-50% better performance and eliminate stutters). These are screen shots from Tomshardware, visit their web site to get a thorough analysis. Happy gaming! We have comprehensive prebuild, custom build, case, CPU, GPU, MB, PSU, DDR5, DDR4, NVMe, SSD, AIO, fans, OS, in stock for you at competitive prices in stock. The more items you buy, the better prices we can offer you as a bundle.
