Auditions for Matilda the Musical are coming up fast! Here's what you need to know before you show up. 🎭

Audition Location: Granger Town Hall

Audition Dates:
📅 April 30 at 6:00 PM — Ages 8–14
📅 May 1 at 6:00 PM — Adults and kids ages 15 and up
📅 May 2 at 2:00 PM — Callbacks (if needed)

Materials:
Children should use the provided audition materials. Adults may use the provided materials or prepare a 45–60 second song cut. Monologues will be provided at auditions.

🎭 Big news! The Town Theatre of Short Tract is excited to announce our summer production of Matilda the Musical!

Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved story, Matilda follows an extraordinary girl with a sharp mind and magical powers who stands up to the adults in her life — with unforgettable music and lots of heart.

Performances will be July 23-25 at Belfast Central School.

We’re also thrilled to welcome our new director, Amy Simanowski! Amy brings 15 years of community theater experience and has spent the last decade building a youth theater program, directing shows like Newsies, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and yes — Matilda! We can’t wait to see what she brings to our stage.

Auditions will be held at the Granger Town Hall:

This show has something for everyone — but we especially want to call out students in 6th grade and up. Beyond the large ensemble, there are real named roles available for older youth, and you are vital to making this show work.
