This will be a final post from HFAA as a 501c3 non-profit entity as this historic art organization dispenses with its non-profit status and continues as an informal art club. Today Gary Hall, (president), and Robert Leuallen, (sec / treas.) closed HFAA’s bank account, the PO Box, turned over the remaining funds to the Creamery Arts Center, (as per the vote of the membership), and handed the Hotchkiss Fine Arts torch back to Mary Hockenbery, who will be the initial contact (970-314-3373) for those interested in being involved in the new art club. Mary will become the administrator of our public page and membership group.

Hotchkiss Fine Arts Association Status

Continuing HFAA as an informal art club while dissolving the non-profit 501c3 tax-exempt status of HFAA becomes a method that allows this historic art club continued existence without the formal requirements of a non-profit designation. The vote was unanimous from the group of 13 who attended the decision making meeting held at the Creamery, May 7th, 10am.

Current officers Gary Hall, President, Lynne Anderson, VP, and Robert Leuallen, Sec/Treasurer will step down once all details of our non-profit status disbanding are completed.

Mary Hockenbery, former HFAA President, has agreed to be the contact person for those interested in continuing HFAA as an art club. Her phone number is 970-314-3374. She mentioned a possible meeting in June and she will also be contacting current and past members.

The members in attendance also voted unanimously to donate, (donating being required by the bylaws), all remaining organizational monies, $1095.67 in checking and about $120.00 petty cash from Life Drawing sessions to the Creamery Art Center. More information will be announced as these changes become final.
