🎙️💫 This week, Wednesday September 23th, at Wednesday Night Poetry at Kollective Coffee+Tea, I am proud to feature storyteller, filmmaker, ordained minister, activist, and poet Zachary Crow. Open mic starts at 6:30pm. Zach will begin his feature set at 7:30pm, followed by another round of open mic. Admission is free and open to all ages. All are welcome. WNP will always be a safe space.
⭐️ Zachary Crow is a storyteller, filmmaker, ordained minister, activist, and poet. Crow splits his time between Little Rock, Arkansas, and Ormond Beach, Florida, where his partner, Beth, currently resides.
After spending two years living alongside and learning from homeless, incarcerated, and formerly incarcerated people in Atlanta, Crow returned to Little Rock, where he served as Executive Director of decARcerate for nearly a decade. A grassroots campaign working to end mass incarceration in Arkansas through education, smart legislation, and direct action.
Crow now serves as Communications Manager for A2 (Anthropocene Alliance), a national network of more than 450 frontline community organizations working for environmental justice. At A2, he supports communities confronting flooding, toxic pollution, wildfires, drought, extreme heat, and other environmental threats while helping build the power and leadership of people most directly affected.
Crow is the author of two chapbooks, 30 and Lilac. His first two full-length poetry collections, Dancing in the Eddies and Fireweed and Flint, were released in 2018 and 2025, respectively. His work explores the intersections of race, class, religion, neurodivergence, and life in the American South, often interrogating the American empire, oligarchy, and the systems of domination, exploitation, and oppression that shape American life.
⭐️ 1,965 weeks in a row--Wednesday Night Poetry is the longest running consecutive weekly open mic series in the country, never missing a single week since February 1, 1989. 37 years!
