The next generation of chamber musicians is on its way to Garth Newel and we can't wait for you to meet them!

This July, eleven exceptional string and piano artists from leading conservatories and music schools will arrive in Bath County for four weeks of intensive study, mentorship, and performance. Working alongside the Garth Newel Piano Quartet and distinguished guest faculty, these talented young musicians will immerse themselves in chamber music while becoming part of our vibrant musical community.

Our Emerging Artist Alumni Series celebrates the creativity and artistry of former Garth Newel fellows as they continue to build their careers and launch exciting new projects.

This year, we're thrilled to welcome back 2022 violin fellow Jordan Bartel and his ensemble, Trio Laval. Their program, Nights, explores how literature and music across centuries have interpreted the mystery, beauty, and complexity of the darkest time of day. 🌙🎶

Before their June 20 performance, we sat down with Jordan, Sarina Zhang, and Sean Terada Yang to learn more about the project, what audiences can expect to hear, and a little about life beyond the stage. (Yes, there may be a few cat stories, too. 🐈)
