❌ Never create the same piece twice.
❌ Fly through the basics so you can jump to the advanced techniques.
❌ Always create what’s trending.

No, no, & an extra large NOOOO!

I don’t know why I had these false beliefs in my head when I got started. But learning how UNTRUE each of these are, & how they will actually KEEP YOU FURTHER FROM identifying who you truly are as an artists, has allowed me to not only create from a deeper, more original place, but also identify where I want to take my work, & the artist I want to grow into.

I’ve created this pattern more times than I have ever created a piece before, each time a little different, but every time digging a bit deeper into the elements of the design that really light my fire.

It’s taken 3 incredible years of entering into the fiber art world for me to really understand how to create your niche within your niche & that in a market that seems saturated, by trusting in your own ideas it’s easy to stand out as a distinguishable artist.

It’s why we built the

We’ve set the date. The outfits are in the closet, our matching something blues are on the way.

We’ve got the map there flexibly routed with the return date intentionally missing.

We’re really doing this.

& as much as I believe it, it still blows my mind.

I still remember trying to get you to even look my way.

& man was that cringy bc we both know subtle flirting has never been my thing.

but I told you I was persistent.

& now here we are, a few months away from turning the day we met into the day we get married.

When what you’re searching for doesn’t exist, create it yourself.

Our mediums may be different but we both found ourselves in the same place, ready to step into the next level of who we are as artists.

Erica was ready for what was next, & I was ready to define myself. We were ready to discover our inspiration, the things that make us move. I wanted my work to become distinguishable, & Erica wanted her already distinguishable work to take her somewhere new, to light her next fire.

What we found is that while everyone’s teaching tutorials, no one is teaching inspiration & the infinite amount of it your holding in your hands.

So we created it.

The Inspiration Generator was designed to help you discover yourself as an artist, how to find your “niche within the niche”, how to light your next fire as you rediscover your why, & show you how far you’re actually capable of going.

This course opens your eyes to translating the things that inspire you, the moments in life that you loved, feelings you want to feel or want others to feel, the places you’ve been, things that actually have meaning to YOU into your world of art.

& we’re so excited to share it with you.

If you haven’t already jumped on the waitlist, head there now.

I’ll always run away with you.

I’ll always stay hidden in this little world of ours.

I’ll always love you more each day.

& I know we never know what the future holds, but I knew that day on top of that mountain 3 1/2 years ago that you were something I didn’t understand, & that I probably never would, but it made everything finally make sense.

I was raised to believe that life is trusting in things we don’t know, but that we know with an unwavering knowing is right.

& I’ve never felt so right in where I am as I always have with you.

I can’t wait to marry you,
& runaway again 🤍

We’ve been keeping a secret..

Well at least from each other.

This absolutely perfect morning, with our friends & family, we became fiancés.

I proposed, she proposed back.

We all cried.

We popped champagne, had the best le***an love cake, thank you .pie.co.

& now we’re gonna soak up this last day of family vaca with the people we couldn’t have done this without.

Thank you so much & for rings we’ll never take off.

Thank you so much for being here to capture the best moment of my life.

Thank you to our moms, & for raising us to know the love we deserve.

Thank you to our best friends, & , who were in on both proposals the whole time & coordinated even the parts we didn’t.

& thank you for saying yes. 🤍

We’ll share much more soon, but for now, we’re just gonna soak in this day as the future Mrs. & Mrs.

I love that we’ve always been in different places.

Well not literally, if you know us you know we don’t go far without each other. Honestly, it might be unhealthy how attached we are, but hey I recently quit bread (I mean on some days 🙃) so that’s healthy enough for me.

But in our businesses & as artists, we’ve always been at different mile markers.

I’ll never forget the day Erica sold over 1200 salt & pepper shakers in less than 24 hours. Her crying in disbelief.

Getting to witness that moment in an artists career where you’re literally seeing the moment that becomes the “before the thing” & the “after the thing”.

She grew from nothing & to watch not only the amount of people that bring her artwork into their lives every month, but the relentless dedication it took to get her there has always made me keep going.

Because I’ve had the privilege of living with proof that when you truly believe in something, & when your willing to live off of chicken breast for however long it takes, you can bring to life everything you dream of.

She’s taught me that it’s not the numbers that will keep you moving forward, it’s the truth behind your work. It’s actually believing in what you’re creating. Connecting with it.

She’s taught me you build a business through connecting with people, through having actual conversations. Through telling your story. That you have to put yourself out there and your people will find you.

I’ve never envied that I wasn’t yet where she was, bc it’s never been a race. My journey isn’t Erica’s, & hers isn’t mine.

& I know her story, I know what it’s taken. I know the depth of her as an artist, & if anything it’s made me want to dig deeper into myself. Because when you get to watch somebody create nonstop for hours and hours, with such a level of love for their work, it’s a feeling you only want to embody yourself.

& what I love the most is that she’s never tried to coach me, she’s never told me how to do it, or tried to push what worked for her. She just was all those things. She’s led by example & even when she didn’t think I was watching, I’ve absorbed it all.

Here she is. All 9.5 sq.ft. of her. ✨

Spending that much time in one piece makes way for a lot of me time, a lot of quiet space, space to process things, space to play really loud music and not process anything other than just being there.

I get to fall into a rhythm & let my head do what it needs in that moment.

It’s a meditation for me. I walk out of it differently than I walked in. It forces me to just be, to accept what is, to let go of what isn’t, & gives me space for whats coming next.

You’ll always make time for the things you want to.

says it best, we all have the same 24 hours in a day.

If you want something enough, you’ll find the time. You’ll create the energy. You’ll force it if you have to.

Pay attention to the things you make time for. They’ll teach you a lot about yourself. About what you actually enjoy. They can guide you in what to build, in what life to chase after.

We’re always changing, & it’s good to relearn yourself from time to time. To step back & evaluate who you are in this season, to check in with yourself & make sure the time you give aligns with who you want to be.

Our life is always becoming the sum of our choices, the sum of our time.

Dying for you to see the current work in progress completed, but for now I’m slowly soaking up every second (& hour) of being in this piece. 🤍

You would think by now I would be used to who we are. That I would have accepted that our chill isn’t really real & that working on 90 different things in 90 different areas is something we just won’t stop doing.

But no, I still have those moments of overwhelm.
Of thinking I’m in over my head.
Of getting stressed out, bc I can’t be in all the different places all at once.
Of feeling like I’m dropping the ball in this area, bc today I need to be in that area.

But then a moment of sitting still happens & I think about what being “so busy” actually means.

It means I’m being given so many opportunities to take on so many things that allow me to grow. That teach me discipline. That show me what’s worth my time & what’s not. It means that I’m chasing after everything I want with all I have. It means I’m doing everything I can to get us where I want to go. It means I’m not wasting time.

It means I’m lucky enough to have jobs that pay my bills & my shopping habits 🙃, that allow me to invest in our businesses. It means I have a growing business sharing work I love with people that get it, that support me & that love my work as much as I do. It means I have people in my life that want me in theirs.

& if I’m being honest, I don’t want to not be busy.

I was so “not busy” for so many years & what my life looked like then, who I was in that season, is one of the biggest motivators for me now.

Bc back then I was sitting still. Too still. Stagnant still.

I wasn’t working towards anything. I wasn’t changing or growing. I was bored. The future looked like everyday I was already living in & if I wasn’t excited about what I was living in, why would I be excited for the same future?

But all this busy now, all that I’ve chosen to fill my time with, all of it is moving me forward. It’s FORCING me to grow, it’s expanding my future, & it’s teaching me I can do so much more then I ever thought I could.

Be grateful for your busy, change your thoughts around it, a full day makes for a full life.

& from the words of our forever favorite coaches, remember “This is the life we chose.” - .harley (& Justin too 😊)

Some processes are meant to be slow bc the result is meant to be felt.

Preparation of a piece usually feels the longest & there’ve been so many times where I caught myself wanting to speed through it. To get to the really good part. The part where you start to see it all come together.

In preparation, you’re still just imagining it. You’re still hoping it comes out as perfect as you want. You’re still asking yourself if the idea is really that good, if it’s actually worth all the time.

Preparation is repetitively measuring & cutting cords, it’s that first hanging of the knots, it’s bundling, it’s adjusting, & it’s sometimes changing your mind 30 times before settling on the actual plan.

But it’s the foundation, everything that will be built comes from this time, this work, this preparation. It’s a part of the process, meant to be felt, so that you actually feel the result.

What a three years it’s been.

There’s a piece in home from my first month in. It’s one of maybe three designs I could create at the time. & while it feels so elementary now, at that point, I can remember how proud I was to create it.

To be where I am now & get to reflect on all that has happened, how much has changed, how fast 3 years goes, I’m happy to sit in the peace of this season.

I feel like I finally know myself and my work deeper then I ever have. & while I’m way too much to not always be shooting for what’s next, I am really grateful for all the understanding this season has soaked into it.

Swipe for where it started 👉🏼

Lately it’s become my place of peace.

The space I go into where I only think as much as I feel up to.

Some of the pieces get elaborate plans, now whether we actually stick to those is a whole different story.

But then some of them are birthed after a long week of 2 side jobs & all day days spent on brain fully activated course planning, & it’s finally Monday (my day of chill) & my head & hands are in much need of creating but my brain just really wants to take it all in rather then participate.

So I just start with the bare minimum of an idea, just the slightest spark of inspiration. I don’t really know how it’ll turn out, & I’m 100% okay with it. These pieces are there for play. Just to enjoy the act of creating.

I love what I create, but even more then that I love what I do. It’s the time spent existing in this place of wonder, of imagination, of creation, of enough silence to process thoughts & be forced to meet yourself that I’m so truly grateful for.

It’s not as much the end result that matters, but how I spent the time getting there.
