Please note the following for those attending our horse shows:

COVID Guidelines for the Chemung County Fair Horse Show

• Facial coverings (masks, etc.) must be worn when not mounted on a horse or showing a horse and not socially distanced from any non-family members (under 2 years old do not have to wear a mask/facial covering)
• If you have truck/trailers that are registered in one of the banned states – and the owner/exhibitor has been in NY state for more than 14 days prior to the event they are requiring proof that will include – copy of their drivers license, name of the person operating the vehicle, license plate number of each vehicle and documentation of their whereabouts for the previous 14 days (EZ pass statements, etc.). – this must be submitted to Shelly Rozell for submission to the County 48 hours prior to their arrival to the facilities – if this is not done the show risks being shut down (again jeopardizing future shows)
• NO SPECTATORS are allowed
• Each person entering the fairgrounds for the horse show will be required to sign a COVID release form and have their temperature taken daily
• Show office will be limited to 2 exhibitors at a time (in addition to the show office staff/judges) – please adhere to social distancing and follow signage (one entrance door and one exit door)
• Chemung County Sherriff and DOH will be, at times, patrolling through the facilities while events are being held to ensure compliance with the COVID guidelines
• Our compliance with the COVID guidelines are imperative to the future of additional horse shows at the fairgrounds

General Horse Show Updates:

• Horses can start arriving on the grounds Wednesday 8/5/2020 (unless approved ahead of time)
• Stalls will be marked with your name and charts will be on each end of the barns and at the show office (outside wall) with an empty stall between groups to allow for social distancing
• Patterns will be posted outside of the show office and available on Facebook when able
• Ride times for Dressage will be posted on the outside of the show office when they are available
• NO SPECTATORS are allowed – if the exhibitor is a child the parents are allowed to be present
• There will be no hanging out at the ring side in large groups in between classes – when you are done showing we are asked that exhibitors return to the barns, trailers, and/or campers to be in compliance with COVID guidelines
• Ribbons and awards will be done differently for handing out so that there is no congestion at the show office – this will be announced during the show as details are being finalized
• Please bear with our show staff during these trying times – we are doing our best to keep things moving smoothly and to keep everyone safe!
