The Arts Center builds community through the arts by fostering creative expression and providing artistic and educational opportunities for people of all ages. Events each year include theater performances, concerts, exhibitions, lectures and classes. The Arts Center hosts performances and exhibitions ranging from international visual arts shows to local theater and musical performances. The Hopki

ns School District also offers a wide variety of classes at the Arts Center, from oil painting and Japanese brush painting, to Latin dance, yoga and photography. The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that raises funds to support arts programming at the Center, coordinates volunteer efforts and fosters public awareness of the Center. Join the Friends or make a donation and help ensure accessible and affordable music, visual arts and literary arts events and activities in our community. The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the arts also sponsor one day events such as Raspberry Jam and Tea and Treasures. Proceeds from these events directly benefit arts programming at the Center. The Arts Center strives to enrich the lives of the residents and the business community by offering the facility for rent to individuals, businesses, and organizations. Amenities at the Arts Center include a 716-seat theater with a proscenium stage, full audio/visual capabilities, art gallery and classroom, dance studio, community room, and catering kitchen for special events. The Hopkins Center for the Arts was built in 1997 with funds from the City of Hopkins and the State of Minnesota, as well as contributions from corporations, foundations, local civic organizations and businesses, and individuals. The Art Center is owned and operated by the City of Hopkins. Tenants include Stages Theatre Company and Hopkins School District 270. It is located in downtown Hopkins, within walking distance of several restaurants, antique and other shops and a movie theater complex.

Last week’s Sunset Series kickoff with Salsa del Soul had to move indoors because of rain.

So here’s a little throwback to what Sunset Series looks like when Minnesota weather cooperates. ☀️

This fall brings:

🎵 Four nationally touring acts in concert featuring The Gibson Brothers with Monroe Crossing, Ruthie Foster, John Jorgenson Quintet, and SistaStrings.

🎨 Major exhibitions featuring regional, national, and international artists

The Sunset Series returns Thursday night with Salsa del Soul bringing high-energy Latin dance music to Downtown Park.

Join us for the first concert of the season and an evening of music, dancing, and community in the heart of Hopkins.
