'Best Camp of the Decade'

The 4th Wall is the transparent barrier separating the actors from the audience. The company was born in 1994 with productions of The Princess Who Would Not Smile, Rumpelstiltskin, Lovers and Liars, Who Shot Cupid?, Home For The Holidays (an originally written WWII Stage Door Canteen), as well as improvisational murder mysteries and cabarets performed at various venues in the tri-state area. At th

e Masonic Hall in Newburgh, Funny Valentines opened at the Ballroom Theatre, with The Odd Couple (Female Version), Tony and Tina’s Wedding, Spring Cleaning, and Murder at the Hard Co**se Café playing there soon after. Founding members then went their separate ways, working on Broadway, in regional theaters, and Directing and Stage Managing shows for Madison Square Garden, MTV, VH-1, and Nickelodeon. Reuniting in 2001, they revived the company at the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center in Poughkeepsie, and there started their Summer Theatre Camp. Since then, programs at various venues in the Mid-Hudson Valley have included comedy, concerts, art, film festivals, performing arts classes, children’s programming, and main stage theatrical shows. In 2016, 4th Wall won several BroadwayWorld Central New York Awards including, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Musical, Best Actress in Play, Best Play and Musical Director, and Best Musical. In 2020, 4th Wall won multiple Broadway World Awards: Best of the Decade including Best Arts Educator, Best Youth Theatre Camp/After School Program, Best Theatre Staff, Favorite Social Media, and Theatre Company Of The Decade.

4th Wall has found its new home at Hopeland Rest in Hopewell Junction. The company looks forward to their continued success and hope you will play a part.

We heard you, so we're making a few changes to our summer programming! Two sessions of our classic Musical Theater camp (different show each week), a brand new Confidence Camp led by Christine and we're going to push our production of Camp Rock to the Fall and will be putting it on as a main stage production. More info will be coming out soon!

The year is 2003 and the place is 4th Wall Summer Theater Camp. In the picture the two of them happened to be next to each other in the pre-show energy circle not knowing that image captured the beginning of their friendship. The two would go on to eventually become counselors at 4th Wall. Alexandra is now our Co-Camp Director and Angela uses all her theater and improv knowledge in the international coporate world. They were voted as inseparable best friends in high school and lived up to the title. Moral of the story: You never know who you might meet at camp 👯‍♀️
