This is an INCREDIBLE honor for Hoover High School Band! Congratulations to the students and directors!

The Hoover High School Band program has been awarded the Phi Beta Mu, Earl D. Irons; Program of Distinction for 2026.

This is a national award given for excellence and achievement in all areas/ensembles of a high school band program.

This is a huge accomplishment and something we can all celebrate together.

What a great evening at the Hoover City Schools Visual Art Gallery Viewing Night at the PAC! Students, families, teachers, and community members came together to celebrate the talented student artists from all 16 HCS schools. We are so proud of our students and thankful for our 24 visual art teachers who inspire their creativity every day!

Simmons Middle School Theatre and Choir are excited to have kicked off rehearsals for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. yesterday! The magic is officially underway, and we can’t wait to see this talented cast bring the story to life on stage! Mark your calendars—you won’t want to miss it!

Green Valley’s Mr. Moore and Mrs. Belgaonkar are helping students build confidence while developing their musical and artistic skills! Students are learning, growing, and making music together!

Mr. Keaton and his Bluff Park students are making music and having a great time learning together! 🎶 Through singing, listening, movement, and hands-on music making, students are building important musical skills and having fun along the way!

Mrs. DeVore and Mrs. Danley (as well as the class pet Dr. Bearden) are captivating students’ attention this morning through Drama and STEAM! We’re excited to see these multitalented teachers engaging students in so many different ways—especially since their talents also extend to teaching music and visual art. What a great example of the arts and STEAM coming together to make learning engaging and fun!
