Celebrate National Leathercraft Day with Joseph Broken Bow Leather Company and Tandy Leather in Birmingham for a special guest instructor class!

This beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of leather carving, including how to use a swivel knife and the essential stamping tools needed to create permanent designs and images on leather. By the end of the class, you'll take home your very first hand-carved leather project.

We are proud to have special guest Instructor Ed LaBarre coming to your local Tandy Leather location here in Birmingham to teach his Realistic Oaks Belt and Maple Leaf carving classes! As many of you may know, Ed is a well renowned leathercrafter and leather artisan with over 35 years of experience working with leather. He is well known and respected by his peers in the leatherworking community and has taught classes at all the major leather shows across the country. We are very fortunate to have Ed living right here in Alabama to be able to share his knowledge and experience in leatherworking with all of us!

Ed will be teaching two different classes over the three days of the weekend, so make sure to contact us soon to claim your spot(s)!

The Tandy Leather south zone is having an ugly sweater contest! Check out the rules below and ensure you enter between December 15th and 30th. The winner will receive a free class voucher!

Rules:
1.) Customers must come into their local Tandy store and post their Ugly Sweater online using the hashtag
2.) Customers must notify the store manager via email with a picture of their Ugly Sweater in-store.
3.) The winner will receive one free class voucher for any course that their local store is hosting.

The Birmingham, Alabama, location taught a leathercraft class at the North Alabama Agriplex & Heritage Center on 12/1/22. Cultivating a community passionate about preserving agricultural heritage is the mission of the Agriplex, and they achieve this by creating awareness and offer education about agriculture and outdoor life. They have classes for kids and adults, and we very much appreciate them for allowing us to teach leathercraft to a group of eager students. Everyone learned a great deal about leathercrafting and had a great time. We look forward to hosting more classes with the Agriplex in the future.”

"Joseph made and entered the Rocky Mountain Leather Show in Sheridan Wyoming in May. He won third place in the competition for the holster rig, and it will be featured in an upcoming issue of the Leather Crafter’s & Saddlers Journal. He used our Tandy Buscadero belt & holster pattern pack for the pattern. The holster rig has about 100 hours’ worth of work on the tooling and the construction. "
