The Monte Vista Pirates defended their home turf Friday night, October 9, delivering an impressive 32-6 Homecoming victory over the Buena Vista Demons!

The Pirates brought their experience to the field, setting the pace against a young Buena Vista team and keeping control of the game. Monte Vista gave the hometown crowd plenty to cheer about as they added another victory to their season.

Here's a look at some of the action through our lenses!

Another chance to capture two Valley teams under the Friday night lights.

There are some young people whose accomplishments could fill a page, but you would never know it from talking to them. Corbin Horrocks is one of them. He would never be the one to tell you about the races, the honors, or the opportunities he has earned.

Corbin is an accomplished competitive ski racer who has represented Colorado on the Colorado All-State Ski Team, and now this Del Norte graduate is headed to the Colorado School of Mines to study Environmental Engineering. Impressive? Absolutely. But what impressed us even more is the young man behind all of it.

Corbin is mellow, laid-back, humble, and genuinely easy to talk to. He treats people well, carries himself with a maturity beyond his years, and somehow makes all those accomplishments seem almost secondary to simply being a really good human being.

Corbin, we hope the years ahead bring you mountains worth climbing, work that matters to you, people who value the person you are, and a life every bit as remarkable as the future you are already building. We are cheering for you all the way.
