Still time to join us Saturday at 7pm for Opening Night of ANIME MOMOTARO by Alvin Chan, Eric Johnson, and The HTY Ensemble.

The show blends inspiration from the visually rich world of anime and traditional Japanese theater forms, such as Kyogen and Kabuki, for an entertaining and fast-paced re-telling of the famous folktale. The whole family will enjoy the stylized storytelling, bright costumes, and props manipulated by black-clad koken, traditional stagehands. The HTY stage adaptation also offers a gentler ending with a resolution based on compassion and a message about bullying.

Join us Saturday at 7pm for Opening Night of ANIME MOMOTARO by Alvin Chan, Eric Johnson, and The HTY Ensemble.

This original staging of Japan’s most famous folktale draws inspiration from the visually rich and dynamic world of anime, as well as traditional Japanese theatre techniques and music. The production teaches powerful lessons about inner strength and one’s ability to stand up against bullying. featuring cute ogres, brave animals, and a miraculous boy born from a peach.

Reminder 📆 Registration for our Fall 2026 Primary Players program opens online on Tuesday, Aug 11 @ 10 AM

Our program celebrates children’s creativity. We provide an inclusive space where every child is a full member of the team, completely bypassing the need for auditions or casting. Instead, all participants take active ownership of the performance—collaborating to build their own original stories, characters, dialogue, and staging.

🎭 For keiki ages 7-11
🎭 10 consecutive Saturday morning classes from 9am - Noon
🎭 Regular attendance is vital to the ensemble nature of this program
🎭 If you know your child cannot commit to all 10 Saturdays, we ask that you check with us ahead of time or join us for a future session
