HTY in collaboration with Capitol Modern is previewing its new augmented reality app for FestPAC this week. Come down and check out our AR experience in the museumʻs Sculpture Garden or walk over to the Queen Liliʻuokalani statue or King Kamehameha statue to experience our brand new Kiʻi Ā Loaʻa. Update from the road: THE PAʻAKAI WE BRING is halfway through their 10-week (inter)national tour! So far, they've performed and connected with communities in California, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, and Kansas-- with so many more to come! Here are some of the team's highlights over the past 5 weeks, including (but not limited to) performing for thousands of kids across the country; teaching hula, acting, and cultural workshops; attending and participating in their first powwow; meeting and performing for the cast of Pilobolus; and (for some) seeing snow for the first time!

Jordyn Imig of Hanalani Schools will be among more than 160,000 students nationwide to compete in this year's poetry recitation contest. The top students will advance from the semifinals to compete for the title of national champion and the grand prize of $20,000.

Honolulu Theatre for Youth has announced the world premiere of a new play titled, The Great Race- The Story of the Chinese Zodiac, written by Reiko Ho.
Join us this Friday 4/12 for Art at the Capitol 2024 at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol. The event runs from 4:30-7pm. At 6pm, HTY will be unveiling its new historic monument, augmented reality project "KIʻI Ā LOAʻA" at the Queenʻs Statue.
