We are extremely proud to announce this week’s comedy showcase which will be a doubleheader featuring the always hilarious Daryl Bonilla from Oahu and Maui resident Luke Shoup (Cool Hand Luke) who will be performing some of his brand new material. Our Host for this evening is the hysterically funny Victoria Toussie Arnstein straight from Brooklyn NY.
Join us on Tuesday 04/10 for our comedy showcase at the legendary Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel & Resort. Doors at 7:00 PM, jokes at 8:00 PM, and will be followed by open mic night. This is a show that you won't want to miss!

We would like to thank everyone that came to our show on Tuesday. It was an excellent lineup of seasoned and up and coming comedians. We received a lot of feedback from our local comedy community and our next show is guaranteed to be even better. Big mahalo's to Pacifico, Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel, and Hawaiian Aroma Caffe.

Comedians can participate in our upcoming shows by submitting an open mic form or by emailing us at [email protected] by Tuesday of the week they are interested in performing. If your name was not selected you could also show up at the club and sign up if there are still any spots available. We will post the lineup as soon as it is complete on our HI State Comedy page. All comedians who perform will receive a complimentary drink from Hawaiian Aroma Caffe.

We would like to thank everyone that came out to our first ever open mic show last week. It was an excellent lineup of seasoned and up and coming comedians. It was a wonderful show and everyone that was there really enjoyed it. After receiving a lot of feedback from our local comedy community we have decided to make some changes to help improve and our next show is guaranteed to be even better.

We've been experiencing some technical difficulties with our open mic form and our email account so if you don't see your name on the list below then please submit another open mic form or leave a comment below.

We want to thank everyone who came out last night to our first of many HI State Comedy Open Mic events. Last night's winner Andrew Joyce snatched $200 and tons of laughs. The audience was thirsty for laughs but at the same time very fair and honest. The 5 judge's score cards looked almost identical and after a lot of calculating a winner was decided. It is a great honor and we feel very humbled to be able to provide a stage for comedians in Hawaii.

HI State Comedy is an open mic comedy event happening every Tuesday in the heart of Waikiki. Our mission is to provide a unique platform for comedians to get more stage time, exposure, and perform their art. From weekly open mic events to featured comedy showcases, HI State Comedy (HSC) is committed to providing a full spectrum of comedy experience. Our first show was curated as a fundraiser for AccesSurf Hawaii and featured no other than the great legend of comedy in Hawaii, Andy Bumatai. The show was, of course, sold out and laughs were heard from all the way up to the hotel’s penthouse. “Make Honolulu Laugh Again” is our goal and is also our business mantra.

Comedians can participate in our upcoming shows by visiting our website and submitting an open mic form or by emailing us at [email protected] by Monday of the week they are interested in performing. A random drawing will be done to determine which comedians will perform. If your name was not selected you could also show up at the club and sign up if there are still any spots available. We will post the lineup as soon as its complete on our HI State Comedy page.

A few things to remember: · Check in with the host when you arrive at the club · Sets are 5 minutes · You will be played off stage if you go over the 5 minute set time

HI State Comedy decided to part ways with Hawaiian Aroma Caffe and is not doing shows at the moment. Hawaiian Aroma Caffe was difficult to work with and gave up after doing only three shows. We are currently looking for a new venue that supports local comedy.
