Jo-Jikum - Idalia B C O'Brien

"who are you to tell me that I can't speak my native tongue on an island that is for my people?"
Man if you haven't listened to this young Marshallese poet, Idalia B.C. O'Brien, you better do yourself a favor and take 3mins out of your day to do so.

The brave, young, powerful voices of the Marshall Islands showcased their talents at the Jo-Jikum Climate Change Arts Camp this summer. Pacific Tongues was fortunate to be a small part of it. Shout out to Jo-Jikum, Kathy Dede Neien Jetnil-Kijiner & everyone else to helped to create such a beautiful event!

Again, Thank you Jo-Jikum, Kathy Dede Neien Jetnil-Kijiner and all the organizers, educators and community members that helped to make this possible!
Oh the power of Pacific Youth Voices getting the platform to share their own words, to be heard, to be loved, to create the important conversations that need to be had
