While living with Hawaiian music legends Leon and Malia up in Aiea Heights Drive back in the late 90’s, I was introduced to Ed Cobb who lived a few doors down. We would talk for hours on his pool deck about the music industry and his career. His wife was a 747 captain for Continental at the time. Every wall in his house was covered with platinum & gold records including Pink Floyd “The Wall”, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan that he did the final mixing on in his Los Angeles Studio...The Producers Workshop. He told me how professional Pink Floyd was and how Fleetwood Mac would argue a lot while mixing. When Soft Cell approached him to mix their record, they needed one more song and so he introduced them to “Tainted Love” which he had written & became their biggest hit. He sadly passed in 1999 but was one of the most interesting & influential friends in the music industry that I ever knew personally.
