T-48 hours until our full moon, one man show! 🌕🌑
A one-man one-moon premiere under the light of the next full moon, only at the @artsatmarks! IL LUNO is a classic tale about the moon – reimagined, re-gendered, and recited by rote. Tickets on sale here- https://www.eventbrite.com/o/the-arts-at-marks-garage-7208733361
...
In this “one-moon show,” the narrator is the ancient scavenger “Qfwfq.” He tells his story of an ocean crew who explore the nether reaches of gravity between Earth and Moon. A love triangle ensues between Qfwfq, his cousin, and the captain’s husband, when suddenly the motion of the moon disrupts their lives forever. This new take on the classic swaps the gender identity of every character except for the protagonist’s. The resulting narrative draws attention to the original fable’s adherence to gender normative roles, while at the same time, presents a different vision of what the gender roles in a classic tale can be.
