If, at the end of the day, we can touch the life of one young artist by connecting them with another, we are doing exactly what we should be doing. Our gallery was brightened today and our hearts warmed by this lovely young man who wanted nothing more than to meet and share his art with Sam Campos, the godfather of Hawaiian comics and the curator of our PINEAPPLE MAN AND FRIENDS exhibit. With a phenomenally supportive family in tow, we are proud to welcome this young artist to the ohama at The ARTS at Marks Garage... and we have no doubt that he will be gracing our walls in the future!

Thank you, Christian, for the gift of your amazing scratch art also! It will be treasured always!

The most perfect white square we've ever seen! With Honolulu Pride Month coming to a close, we reflect on all the beautiful moments we shared with friends old and new, we remember our past, dream about our future, but know we must embrace our present. While the festivities are a great reminder, we strive to celebrate Pride every single day. Pride means so much to so many of us, and it's often a very personal experience, but Pride can also be a very public experience also. Trevor , one of the amazing artists featured in our ARTS OF PRIDE EXHIBIT showed us that Pride also means supporting community interests and exemplified one of our core values, which is to leave creative spaces in better condition than how we find them. His gift of plain white unused paint means more to us than he knows! This donation allowed us to touch up paint on many of the surfaces in our gallery space, creating a fresh slate for the next exhibit loading in this week. We are so grateful for the community support we receive. No gift is ever too small.

A big mahalo to all of the artists who participated in THE ARTS OF PRIDE EXHIBIT! We hit a record number of visitors this month, and that is because of YOU and YOUR WORK! Thank yous are also due to and to the countless volunteers who helped make this month fun, colorful, and successful!

The ARTS at Marks Garage is a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization. Visit www.artsatmarks.com to make a donation or inquire about you can help us continue our mission to support the community as an arts incubator. Your contributions help us to further create opportunities for emerging and established artists statewide. Many thanks to you all! Happy PRIDE!

And please follow for exciting information on our November exhibit!

We need your help to fill the shelf, and to share the magic of the written word. Donations are welcome.
You are always invited to sit in the gallery, enjoy the air conditioning, a refreshing beverage, and beautiful art! Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays, noon to 5pm, and admission is free. Come hang with us at Marks!

Our Pride Paint, Sip & Drag was SO MUCH FUN! In leading the event, Miss Janna Del Rey opened up with a "round robin" ice-breaker with one question: "What does PRIDE mean to you?" And in those precious moments, we went from being strangers to friends (and family). We were entertained thoroughly by the one and only Miss Aria .hnl, and the creativity surged through the room as we bonded, shared stories, and laughed... A LOT! This is exactly what these events are about: creative expression in a safe and inclusive space. We hope to see you at the next one!

We can't say enough how grateful we are for the love and support from our partners and sponsors for this event! The humblest appreciation to Hawaii Health and Harm Reduction Center , .corner.rolls
