Kumu Kahua on KHON Take2 for The Work
Curious about The Work, happening tomorrow night at Kumu Kahua Theatre? Listen to The Work maestro and host Jason A. Kanda explain it to Dallis Ontiveros on a recent episode of Take2. (Mahalo KHON2 News and Dallis for featuring Kumu Kahua!)
The rules are simple: Two directors—“Da Pidgin Guerrilla” Lee Tonouchi and Ryan Okinaka—will direct the same prepared (but unrehearsed) actors in a scene from playwright Wil Pono Kāhele's short play THE INTRUSION. Although the actors will know their lines, they won't meet with the rest of the cast, crew, or either director until the night of the show! Tonouchi and Oki will get only 15 minutes to direct the scene... Then the audience will watch both scenes immediately and pick their favorites!
The Work will be presented live at Kumu Kahua TOMORROW (Monday, November 14) at 7 p.m. Admission is FREE—no tickets necessary!
