Buy a ceramic shell and help me raise funds to help those affected by the Kona lows. 🐚
As you may have seen, Hawai‘i has been hit hard by torrential rain over the last couple of weeks, with devastating effects across O‘ahu and the neighbor islands.
I wanted to find a way to show up through my work, so I am fundraising by selling hand-built sculptural ceramic shell pieces.
I had originally started making these pieces for Raku Hoʻolauleʻa. Because of the storms, the event was canceled, and I thought of putting these shells to use in another way.
Here is exactly what I’m planning:
I am offering sculptural ceramic shell pieces in three sizes, with prices starting at $25.
Shipping is separate and based on destination. International shipping is available. Duties and import fees are not included, and I don’t currently have a way to prepay them on my end, so any customs charges would be the buyer’s responsibility.
Each piece will be a mystery shell shape. When you place your order, you will choose the size, the color and whether or not you want a puka in the back for hanging.
A few shell pieces are already started, but most orders will be made to order. Please allow approximately 6 to 8 weeks for fulfillment.
100% of proceeds will be donated.
Funds raised will be split between:
▪️ Lāhui Foundation (), who are boots on the ground directly supporting those recovering from flood damage, loss and displacement across the entire state, and
▪️Camp Mokulē‘ia ( where the raku event is held every year, and a place that is very near and dear to my heart) was also heavily impacted and has a long road to recovery ahead.
I also want to thank Help Maui Rise ( ) for compiling active donation efforts for individuals and families affected right now. I really encourage you to look through their directory as well. There are so many folks who need a helping hand.
The links in my bio include both the link to shop the mystery shell fundraiser and the Help Maui Rise directory.
If purchasing is not possible right now, sharing this post would help so much too.
Thank you for helping me make something useful with my hands.
