The 3rd window into the world π
I had the divinely serene pleasure of spending the whole winter in secluded Appalachia. A cold and quiet few months with just mother nature, my dog and my true love
I slept, I hiked, built a small online business, ate soooo much fried chicken. But most importantly I reconnected with my Family, my roots, my culture and the humble but beautiful place i come from π
I painted this mural on the living room wall at my late Granny's mountain house where Lacey and I lived for 5 months. Art projects are kinda hard when you're traveling constantly but i was happy to stay long enough to not only be re-inspired to paint again after over a year hiatus but also to create this piece inspired by Mountain City, Georgia and my Granny who was such a huge part of my childhood.
Thank you Granny for always inspiring me creatively, for all the amazing home cooking that i didnt get anywhere else and for teaching me that life doesnt have to be busy to be pleasurable. I was away the last 20 years of your life but I felt so close to you at that little house tucked into the hills.
