Sandy Bottom Swimming Closed for the Season: Due to the blue green algae still being in and around the swim area, NYS Dept of Health has informed us that they will not be able to test the water prior to the weekend. This Sunday, August 30th was our last scheduled day for swimming.

Therefore, unfortunately we have to say goodbye to our swim area for the summer and we cannot wait to see you all again next year with an opening time frame of mid June.

Sandy Bottom swimming area is closed until further notice due to blue green algae. We will update everyone as soon as we get the clearance from NYS Dept of Health to reopen.

Sandy Bottom Pickleball Courts will be closed during the morning next Monday, Tuesday , and Wednesday for Jack Leasure Skills Camp.

To clarify some misinformation, this sign does not mean that the beach is closed due to blue green algae. Per Dept of Health, who regulates our beach, this sign must be up anytime there is not a beach attendant on duty. Beach attendants are on 7 days a week 10a-5p unless there is inclement weather in the forecast.

If the beach is closed due to blue green algae there will be a sign up that says "beach closed by dept of health" and the harmful algae sign will be up and we will make a post on our Facebook.

Last week campers participated in Nature & Animals week. They completed nature hunts, rock painting, a presentation by the NYS Forest Rangers, where we got to spray water from backpack tanks, and an HVA sponsored program where the kids caught frogs, learned about bugs, and got to see what lived in the mud of our lagoon. The whole week was wrapped up with a trip to the Seneca Park Zoo. This week is STEM Week. Stay tuned for some cool experiments.
