Happy National Band Director Day. The directors received a nice gift and appreciation from Hondo ISD and the Hondo Band Boosters. We just wanted to say thanks from Mr. Marchese, Mr. Guerra, and Mr. Hernandez.

The McDowell beginning band earned a 1st Division today at Lytle Pirateland Festival and got 2nd place overall!

McDowell Cadet Band also received a 1st Division today! This contest was considered their official playing evaluation as they did not go to UIL.

After today’s contest, all McDowell bands earned a 1st Division on stage this year!!!

Today at the Fredericksburg Pre-UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest there was an informal reunion of past and present Hondo Band Directors across 5 decades 1970s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s. Clint Marchese, Billy Harrell, Brian Hecimovich, Joshua Chessher, and Bob Howard.

The McDowell Concert Band received straight 1s on stage today at UIL Concert and Sight Reading!

We are very proud of their hard work and determination!!! This is the first sweepstakes award for our non-varsity band since 2022!

Today the MOB students (mostly freshmen and 8th graders) received their new letter jackets from qualifying for State Marching Contest!

Congrats to the 27 McDowell Middle School students who earned a spot in the ATSSB All-Region Bands. Nearly 400 MS students from all across our region auditioned this Monday in Natalia.
