I’ve been trying the different types of “chrome” paint since it hit the shelves back in the 80’s. Nothing will ever be as good as the real deal “chrome” but this is about as close as I’ve ever gotten straight outta the can/gun.
This project called for some Blue Chrome parts. After researching all the different “hydro chrome” applications and pricing it, it just wasn’t feasible! Then I ran across this paint from Super Chrome outta Canada. Watched the few Videos they had online, then called & talked to the owner for some more questions regarding the curing process. After the conversation was done I felt confident enough to buy a couple cans to try out.
The story has about 5 months of back drama to get me to this point, I tried hiring someone who thinks they are a professional automotive painter and that didn’t work out very well, to say the least. I’ll spare you from all that and post the video of his work after I finish this project myself. But this Super Chrome paint is by far the best that I’ve tried to date! It’s a little labor intensive, but worth the results thus far. It is a base coat, clear coat and then the Suoer Chrome paint is applied. I’m confident that if given the “professional” environment that the results would have been nearly flawless. Spray painting outside in the Miami summer heat & humidity is a challenge within itself… lol on to the next phase… HOK Kandy Blue with show clear! TBC WIP
