We recently lost a member of our Raspberry Lane family. It's taken me a bit to get up the gumption to write about Carmen. She mean't more to me than she'll ever know. The Field family joined Raspberry Lane the first year the program was under my care, Eryn was two years old. I was young, energetic, lost, scared, curious, enthusiastic, and scared (did I mention that already?). Carmen opened my eyes to the importance..no the necessity of having children engaged in their outside world. Not only is it important in fostering a little one's imagination, curiosity and capacity to learn, it also closely connects our children to their community. Both Carmen and Conrad were always present at Raspberry Lane showing their constant support of Eryn and, subsequently me. I changed how I taught and what I valued because of Carmen. There is so much more to say-I will end like we ended every school day, but this one is just for you Carmen:
May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon You
All Love Surround You
And the Pure Light Within You
Guide Your Way Home...
Thank You Carmen
