Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, supported, and came out to enjoy the fair this year. It truly takes a community to make it happen, and we appreciate your input as we start planning for next year!

We hope to see you there!

We’d love to see the rodeo through your eyes and relive some of those great moments with you! What was your favorite part of the local rodeo this year? Know some of you had your phones out! If you caught an awesome, funny, exciting, or just plain COOL video during the rodeo, drop it in the comments. My favorite part was the ladies cowhide race.

❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO LATH CALLAWAY ❤️

We want to take a moment to give a very special thank you to Lath Callaway for everything he did to help us.

Owyhee County, help me show Lath a little love! If you see him, give him a handshake, a pat on the back, or just a simple “thank you.” Better yet, leave him a thank you in the comments so he knows how much our community appreciates him.

Lath is one of those people who sees something that needs to be done and just jumps in. He gave his time, knowledge, equipment, and a whole lot of hard work to help us prepare for the fair and throughout fair week. Whether it was solving a problem, lending a hand, or simply being there when we needed him, we could count on him.

To me, this is what community involvement is all about. Our fair simply couldn’t happen without people who are willing to show up, pitch in, and give back to their community.

Lath, I hope you know how much we appreciate everything you did for us this year and all the years in the past. Your hard work and willingness to help certainly did not go unnoticed. ❤️

Thank you, Lath. We appreciate you more than you know!

OWYHEE COUNTY FAIR LOST & FOUND

Did you leave a little something behind at the fair this year?

We have collected several Lost & Found items from fair week, and we would love to get them back to their owners!

If you are missing something, please send us a message with a description of the item so we can see if we have it.

And parents…you may want to take a quick inventory. 😂 Between kids, animals, projects, food, games, and all the excitement of fair week, it’s amazing anything makes it home!

Please share this post so we can hopefully reunite these items with their owners.

2026 Owyhee County Fair has come to an end.

I’m not even sure where to begin.

So much goes into putting on a fair that most people never see. It’s months of planning, phone calls, emails, meetings, paperwork, problem solving, changing plans, early mornings, late nights…and plenty of moments when you wonder how in the world everything is going to come together.

And then fair week arrives.

The barns fill up. The exhibits start coming in. Kids are everywhere. Families are visiting. The grounds are busy. There’s laughter, competition, a little chaos, and suddenly all of those months of work become something real.

So many people it takes to make our fair happen.

I cannot say thank you enough to our County Commissioners, Fair Board, Extension Office, volunteers, superintendents, judges, sponsors, vendors, community partners, grounds crew, exhibitors, parents, families, and every single person who stepped in when something needed to be done. There were so many people who simply asked, “What can I do?” and those words meant more than you probably realize.

To our sponsors and businesses who donated money, supplies, food, equipment, prizes, time, and so much more, thank you for believing in our county fair and helping us make it something special for our community.

And to the kids…you are the reason so much of this is worth it. Watching you show your animals, enter your projects, compete, laugh with your friends, try something new, and make memories is what the fair is all about.

Our theme this year was Heritage to Harvest, and after watching this week unfold, I think it fit us perfectly. Our fair is built on generations of families, agriculture, traditions, hard work, and people taking care of one another. My hope is that we continue those traditions while also finding new ways to make the fair fun and welcoming for the next generation.

Was everything perfect? Probably not. But there was a whole lot of heart behind it.

Thank you, Owyhee County, for showing up.

Thank you for supporting our kids.

Thank you for supporting our fair.

And thank you for allowing me the privilege of being a small part of something that means so much to this community.
Sonya
