New year, new sketchbook! And a new challenge. I’m drawing birds for this month 🥰

This challenge made me rediscover my love for lettering!

Drawing the birds and shaping the letters to fit into the page layout has been such a fulfilling part of the journey.

👉 Do you like to incorporate lettering into your drawings or rather keep these things separate?

A roseate spoonbill and violet green swallow share the pages of this spread. Just like flamingos, spoonbills derive their color from their diet 🦀

Wait, that’s not a bird 🤔😅

We’re drawing bears in today’s livestream (in German) and don’t get me wrong, I LOVE creating birds, but it’s nice to change up the menu from time to time ☺️

I honestly can’t say which part I enjoyed more: tasting the candy
or testing my new neon oil pastels

🐻 Berti Bear picked up a new hobby: knitting! Fall is here and he wants a warm but flashy accessory to wear around town.

I’m getting ready for Halloween over here. For a costume, I will probably just take Tusnelda with me, and maybe paint my face 🤔 Do you have a costume ready for today? Or just the candy? 😉

✏️ Part 3 is up in my stories today! Biggest takeaway: paper matters 😉

A thorough review of 5 different color pencils:

Goldfaber and Albrecht Dürer (Faber Castell), Supracolor Soft and Museum Aquarelle (Caran d’Ache) and Inktense (Derwent).

📄 I used different kinds of papers, as the results vary so much depending on which paper you use:

Canson XL watercolor, Arches, Artway by Indigo, Gerstäcker Centenaire, Royal talens Art creation.

Current fav combo: watercolor and color pencils. 👉 What about you?

Part 3 of the color pencil review will drop this weekend here in my stories.

This time it’ll be all about water soluble color pencils, such as the Caran d’ache Supracolor 2 soft, Derwent Inktense, Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer and Goldfaber Aqua, and Stabilo Woodys 😊
