Welcome to the Children’s Ballet Theatre! Dedicated to quality, youth-oriented ballet, this independent, non-profit company includes children from ages 8 to 18.

Dancers study technique at their regular home dance studios, then work with the company to create memorable, fun performances.

4. CBT dancers perform in multiple roles that give each dancer lots of time on stage.

Each CBT story ballet has multiple roles that give dancers a variety of characters and roles in each show. This allows dancers considerable stage time dancing as well as being background characters. CBT dancers build up athletic stamina and also excellent memorization skills. Their ability to be quick studies transfers from the dance studio and stage to other endeavors in their lives often including academics. In addition, our dancers develop great time management another important transferable skill.

CBT's specialty is story ballets, and our dancers perform as characters who tell stories. Our dancers perform as beautiful ballerinas, too. Being able to perform as many different characters broadens each dancer's ability and experiences.

6. CBT dancers perform with a wide variety of other dancers.

While many dancers dance in shows that have dancers of varying ages and experience in the program lineup, CBT dancers perform with lots of other dancers on the stage at the same time. While there are many opportunities for CBT dancers to perform solo work, small group work, or dance with dancers of their same age and experience level, they also dance with a stage full of dancers of many ages at the same time. CBT dancers learn to interact and perform in any environment with any other dancers.

CBT dancers have opportunities to provide service and leadership in the
company and the community. Dancers can serve on company committees,
serve at soup kitchens, and serve as company assistants. These

8. CBT is a family affair!

CBT dancer families can be as involved as they want with our productions. Family members create and fit costumes, create props, work backstage, help with quick change, makeup, and hair, plan social events, chaperone, and sit on our Board Of Directors. Are you super busy? Your family commitment can also be minimal.

9. You do not have to leave your current dance studio to dance
with CBT!

CBT is a community company and not run by a dance school. We require ballet technique classes and you can take those classes at any dance school you wish. If you love your dance teacher, you can continue with them and dance with CBT.
