Summer is coming to an end, and it feels like the right time to look back at the things I’ll remember most from it. đŸ€

Apparently, one of those things is
 a lot of tiny baby slippers. 😅

And now my head is already full of ideas for fall.

I’m working on adult sizes right now đŸ˜”â€đŸ’« and it is honestly a huge project. It takes so much attention to detail, testing, and patience to get everything just right.

I also keep getting distracted by pretty things, so this fall I’m planning to sew a lot of fabric flowers — and I have a feeling they’re going to show up in my feed quite often. đŸŒŒ

I’m also working on another style of baby booties. Don’t ask yet. 😂 I’ll show you soon.

And of course, I already have plans for the spookiest little Halloween outfits I can come up with. 🎃

When I was learning to sew, I never really enjoyed making something just for practice.

I needed to want the thing I was making.

Choosing the fabric, imagining what it would look like when it was finished — that was what made me want to sit at the machine and figure out the parts I didn’t know yet.

I think that’s one reason I still love small baby projects so much.

They don’t require a lot of fabric or weeks of work. You can learn something new while making an actual little piece that you wanted in the first place.

And when it’s finished, you get to hold it in your hands and think, “I made this.”

I still love that moment.

So if you’re just learning to sew, I wouldn’t worry too much about finding the “perfect beginner project.”

I’d choose something you really want to make. đŸ€đŸ§”
