Im back writing again. This is Part 11 of an infinite part series about my journey moving away from home
I moved to Florida to grow up. I was still living with my mom, and realized that I needed to make a lot of changes in order to create the life I want for myself. One of those changes was moving out, but I was playing poker at the time. That isn’t verifiable income. So I needed a job. I wanted to start dealing cards.
Unfortunately, no-one up north would hire me. I failed auditions in Vegas and Texas. The only person who offered me a job was a man named Rick Mims at a small poker room called The Casino @ Dania Beach in Hollywood, Florida. There were many reasons why I chose Florida. I love Spanish women, I love Spanish food, and the weather is fantastic. The poker scene is incredible, and I had also had a great job opportunity. I even started playing competitive tournaments in Florida at Hard Rock. South Florida had nostalgia.
I also came down here to forget about a girl, and then I fell in love with someone else two weeks into my trip.
I moved to quit smoking w**d, and have smoked everyday for most of my time down here. It doesn’t matter where you go, your bad habits follow you everywhere.
I did, however, rediscover my purpose, start a new career, meet some incredible people and grow more in a year than I did in the previous 25. I still have a lot of work to do, but moving down here was the best choice I've ever made.
I write this today in a great head space, with an eager look towards the future.
Stay safe and god bless.
I was exhausted and I told the ladies that I needed to go to bed.
