I’ve been trying to practice a little more “intentional” art in the studio as part of my study. I’ve always been drawn to and figured that was a good place to start. Creating them forces me to slow down my brain, think and make intentional decisions vs throwing paint and marks around like confetti.

The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. We lost our bestest boi 2 weeks ago tonight. The ranch has been so quiet, it was so unexpected it knocked the wind out of me so I’m surrounding myself with reminders to “Breathe”. Shortly after we traveled to AZ to visit our daughter before she begins grad school. It was hot as he🏒🏒 but we had a great visit and all too soon it was time to head home. I’m finally back in the studio playing with paint. Trying to stay loose!! What’s up with you??

We’re in AZ visiting our daughter before she starts her Master’s program. Yikes, it’s still blows be away to say that!! 🤯 I’m without art supplies and I’ll admit it’s driving me a little crazy! I really need to travel with an art journal and kit. Just finding a little inspo in my daughters yarn wall. She’s an avid fiber artist, look at all these yummy colors! 😍

This one is called “Hey Mike”, because the other day when I couldn’t loosen up enough to put paint down on canvases I turned to playing with my tiny paper hearts. I had prepped this last wooden, beaded frame from my stash and I couldn’t decide whether to use large hearts or a whole bunch of itty bitty ones. I ran the decision by my friend Cindy, who couldn’t decide either so she hollered down the hallway to her hubby “Hey Mike, large or small?” He answered small but then quickly followed up, “wait, we’re not talking about dogs are we?” Anyway, choosing and placing so many small hearts in a piece presented a fun challenge and I think it’s a super sweet piece! It would be gorgeous in a nursery, girlie room or space with softer, pastel decor. It’s available, so hit me up in the DMs if you’re interested. 12x 12” on wood.
