It has been such a great way to kick off Air Show weekend as we introduced and got to meet all of our incredible performers, heard from the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and enjoyed a fantastic performance by the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America’s Roots in Blue!

Our Hometown Hero, Jeff Del Vecchio, got the ride of a lifetime today with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds — and even got a few extra passes after Thunderbirds #1–6 landed!

✈️ Our Hometown Hero is taking flight!

Today, Jeffrey Del Vecchio is getting the experience of a lifetime as the 2026 Thunderbird Hometown Hero!

Today, he’s trading the ground for the sky and climbing aboard for his Hometown Hero flight!

For nearly 30 years, Del Vecchio has served patients across southwest Missouri while also dedicating countless hours to mentoring future healthcare providers and giving back to his community. His service spans education, nonprofit leadership and charitable organizations, reflecting a commitment to helping others both inside and outside the exam room.

We’re honored to celebrate Jeffrey and all that earned him this special recognition.
