Shibui Found Image Art & SFIA Project

Shibui Found Image Art begins with action art, and then becomes found image art. The SFIA Project began in 2011. Pejj holds Shibui demonstrations and workshops.

Artist Pejj Nunes is a Shibuiest Instructor and the developer of Shibui Found Image Art. Shibui Found Image Art is a great art therapy tool, and I love creating it. In addition to Shibui I also create pastel paintings, and oil paintings, inktense and watercolor paintings.

Good Morning! I have been away due to moving from Maine to Rhode Island. I am not set up in a new studio yet, but the focus is on writing the Shibui Found Image Art manual and working with my coach/editor. I am excited about my progress. May you all have a super day! Joyce Hifler is always a great way to start the day! “Every thinking person knows it is easier to love someone and to accept him (or her) with a warmer and more natural feeling when this can be spontaneous rather than something expected or demanded. Making someone feel it is his (or her) duty to love, or demanding attention, will surely narrow the chances of anything worthwhile ever developing on its own....

My Dearest Thomas Oh, sweet man__lovely man. I have lost you to death. P**f! And you are gone! What do I do with this new reality? One day at a time is what it is! But these days are not full of sadness every minute! I am not crying all day! What I feel is this comfort, and contentment. It feels a bit odd to feel this way....

I can see a scene from The Ya Ya Sisterhood in my mind. Yes! A time to embrace and celebrate! I will do this come spring as I will invite Thomas friends and family to a get-together to celebrate his life. And perhaps spread his ashes. We can all dance! Thomas was marvelous! It was a norm to get lifted and her loud snaps when we kissed!...

September 28th, 2020 I lost the love of my life. And found that mourning is unique to all of us and that it the beginning of a journey into being new. But before I get into those thoughts. I began the development of Shibui Found Image Art in 2011. The goal is that it be used as an art therapy tool, to help individuals to get creative, and explore what is there. I love this form of art. I see it in the works of other artist. And I love that someone else has explored it, what ever name they have for it. I call the tint splatters “marks” for the lack of a better name. and the plan is to turn mine it into some thing. To learn what else can be done. To create with other mediums.

It is not what I am doing is a new idea. It is what I have and will do with it, and it is what anyone else can do with it. It is all beautiful and fantastic! Shibui Found Image Art is always abstraction, it is engineered.
