Absolutely love the freedom to be able to run with someone’s design with the xTool Apparel printer - the ability to print and be pressing the same day is still a little hard to believe.

Running and evolving this little small business has been an adventure and the opportunity to say yes to projects and turn them around fast is amazing for me and potential customers.

Today was an F2 kind of day, from some golf tournament “trophy” wallets to onsite custom coasters. It’s always a handy little laser to have at the ready. 🙂

Had a great time hosting folks from the local area to check out the MetalFab.

It was definitely a little cool and breezy given the Maine spring day, but it was a lot of fun.

Love being able to share the tools with folks and excited to make connections with some of the local manufacturers and fabricators in the area.

The xTool apparel printer has been a reliable machine for making in house transfer, reducing turn around time and increasing production. A new press will be on its way soon to better help with a range of hats, too!

Sooo…it’s no secret that I do events with xTool from time to time. This time however will be right in my own back yard…literally!

Curious about the Metal Fab but the events are always way too far away from Maine? Well this one will be at my workshop May 3! 🙂

When you’ve got a laser at your disposal, you never know what the next request could be.

Last week I was fortunate to be invited to my high school’s “future options” fair to talk about entrepreneurship. It was great sharing the behind the scenes of my personal adventure with small business. The kids also really enjoyed the opportunity to engrave on the spot using the F2.

These opportunities are awesome and while the kids had a blast, the teachers did, too, as a couple followed up with requests of their own for the classroom.

The s1 made efficient work of hundreds of hexagons for a group collaboration and discussion protocol and cardboard props for a freshman reading of Romeo and Juliet!

Absolutely love when my 2 laser based worlds collide. Sometimes it’s the simplest projects that spark some’s creative idea. 🙂

Continuing to play with the xTool Apparel Printer this week. Navigated its first cleaning, which was pretty straightforward with the available videos.

The ability to print in the moment to try out different images and ideas has been great. With my only previous experience with transfers being those I could order online, it’s wild to make them in house in a matter of minutes.

I was asked on another post today how the transfers seem to wear and do with stretching. Specifically, the question was around cracking.

These images are from a shirt made at an event with xTool in January. More than 15 or so washes and still very stretchy with no cracking. The first image is unstretched with the final 2 pulled tight over a cylinder. No noticeable issues. 🙂

I have high hopes that the products turned out by this machine will be reliable and resilient.

The shop has been preparing to welcome its newest machine. The past few days have been set up Finishing up and calibrations, which means today is the time for new opportunities!

Bringing the xTool Apparel Printer in means full color direct to film printing and pressing is now an option!

While there is still some dialing in to do, full color apparel printing is fast going to become a deliverable service!

Had an absolute blast today at the Bonny Eagle Middle School Career fair sharing my experience running a small engraving and printing business.

Using 2 f2s from the school and my own, we had a walk up engraving station for students to explore engraving. They were able to pick an aluminum tag, pen, or keychain then help set it up to process.

Students and adults alike were captivated by the dancing lasers. In under 2 hours we ran through nearly 150 items.

Such a great opportunity to share the adventure and the possibilities. 🙂

Time at the local craft store means time to work!

Cut and prepped on the P3 as well as the P2s. Base pieces are 6mm Baltic with 3mm walnut layer on top.
