Happy National Cougar Day!

Did you know Mountain Lions are known by more than 40 different names in English alone? Depending on where you are, you might hear them called Cougars, Pumas, Panthers, Catamounts, or Mountain Lions, but they're all the same remarkable species.

Today we're celebrating our resident Mountain Lions, Washington and Olympia, and the important role these powerful predators play in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Stop by and say hello to these incredible animals on your next visit!

We had a beautiful day celebrating the Blue Heron School Class of 2026 with friends, family, and Blue Heron alumni, including Sophie Kelsey, who graduated high school this year. A proud Blue Heron alumna, Sophie will be studying culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University this fall.

As part of the kindergarten graduation ceremony, students take a symbolic walk "around the sun" while holding the Earth globe. Each trip around the sun represents a year of growth and learning, as their teacher shares stories of their time at BHS.

This year's ceremony was especially meaningful as we also celebrated Co-Director Jordy Gianforte. After 11 years of inspiring young learners and helping shape the Blue Heron School community, Jordy is off to her next big adventure. Thank you, Jordy, and best wishes on your journey ahead!

Congratulations to our graduates! We can't wait to see where your next adventures take you!
