🎊Fun Fact Friday🎊

Did you know that Arizona's first successful post-prohibition brewery was the Arizona Brewing Company. Started on May 6th 1933 in downtown Phoenix by the Fenster Brothers.

THE ARIZONA BREWING COMPANY actually dates back to 1903 in Arizona when Henry Brinkmeyer, William Mulvenon and Rupert Maxgut signed Articles of Incorporation on October 12, 1903. The Original Brewery was built and Operated in Prescott, Arizona.

The Brewery’s heyday began in the 1940s and 50s, with its flagship brand, A-1 Pilsner, which would become the largest selling beer in Arizona and soon the entire West Coast.
A-1 Pilsner dominated the State of Arizona with the Tag Line “The Western Way to Say Welcome”

The A-1 Beer brand started in 1942 and soon out sold all other brands in the State with it’s great taste and innovative marketing along with Flavor Sealed Cans.

Unfortunately the Brewery closed it's doors in the 80's. However a few years back the Aspen Brewing Company bought A-1/Arizona Brewing Company and started the long process to bring the once famed A-1 Pilsner Beer back to it's Arizona roots.

We have a A-1 Pilsner sign and one of Alonzo Megargee prints he was commissioned to do in the late 40's. I believe the A-1 Pilsner sign was in the building when it was the Arizona Tavern.

We had some good guesses as to how many trains 🚆 we see go by.
On average there are 15 trains that go by while we are open. Besides seeing them go speeding by, we also get to see some pretty cool graffiti art.

🌟Artist Spotlight 🌟

Starla Kishbaugh

Starla is the owner of Stars Custom Glass Art located right here in Holbrook, AZ.
Starla grew up in the White Mountains near Show Low. After a 12 year career as a Fire Fighter/EMT she moved to Holbrook and started working for AZDOC as a safety consultant.
Starla started doing stained glass when her kids were little and didn't do much with it, until her now husband encouraged her to get back in it. They have been married for 4 years and have 8 kids between them. He built her a studio in their home where she creates beautiful pieces of art that she ships all over the world.

Stop by the gallery and see the beautiful pieces that we have of hers.

P.S. If you like it you can buy it 😉

It is time for🎊 Fun Fact Friday 🎊

Did you know that in 1984 a very exciting, fun and then record holding discovery was found not to far from Holbrook?

At The Petrified Forest National Park Bryan Small found a dinosaur bone. Specifically the Chindesaurus nicknamed Gertie. The fossil is roughly 213-225 million years old.

On your next visit to or through Holbrook make sure to leave your self enough time to not only check out the gallery, but also The Petrified Forest National Park. There are a lot of opportunities for some breathtaking photography.
