On Wednesday, September 30, a group of twelve 8th grade students began a 9-month program called "Lincoln Museum Young Leaders” in conjunction with LaRue County Schools and sponsorship assistance from Lincoln National Bank.

This pilot program is designed to follow the school’s Learner Profile curriculum and to foster knowledge and understanding of various aspects of the community from locally-owned small business, agriculture, manufacturing, and civic engagement.

We received the nicest piece of mail! It was copy of Escapees RV Club magazine (with a nationwide distribution to 100,000+ members) and the cutest thank you card.

Back in April, the museum hosted Traveling With Marilyn, and coordinated a visit that included two nights at The Lincoln Lodge and visits to historic sites throughout the community, including Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park.

The pictures are wonderful, the article is in-depth (and even includes coordinates for the RV enthusiasts).

We're thankful to Marilyn and to everyone who helped make her visit so memorable.

It was a real treat to meet Sean Dietrich and his talented teammates yesterday.

They are as kind and gracious as anyone who follows Sean Of The South would expect.

More so, even!

This is just a snippet of Museum Director Iris LaRue sharing Lincoln and local history — even giving Sean directions to local hotspots around town!

Sean visited while preparing for his free concert at our National Park here in Hodgenville.

He loves to learn more about the places where he performs.

We were thrilled he spent some time with us.

You can spend some time with him Sean as well.

Free tickets for Saturday’s performance are still available, but you must pre-register.

Learn how by visiting Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park’s page.
