After 18 years of representing artists and serving our guests. I am running away π Well so to speak as being a shop keeper under the thumb of a horrible landlord. These last few years have been very challenging to say the least. I have seen the best and the strangest in people. I have stood in my prep area with rain dropping on me and my employees's heads and wading thru flood waters thru almost every rain. All the while my landlord stands by holds out his hand for his $4500.00 a month rent check and tells me to build a dock in my space to keep my fixtures above water.
Seriously that's what he told me to do lol omg!! Excuse after Excuse why things can't be fixed he blames the county, etc. It's always someone else's fault sound familiar? Indeed it does... I have come to know the good old day's when the majority of people were appreciative of others is a quality hard to find.
In February after a year of Wet Vacing my space time and time again thru the storms I decided the writing was all over the wall. I was not renewing my lease. No No No not at all. That's when I decided to restore a family home. She has emerged as The Pineapple Chateau, a B&B of sorts. A place that looks over the lake and forest of Johnathon Dickerson State Park. A place of the past enriched in Florida history. A place where pineapples once covered the ground. A place where Eagles soar across the lake and red birds come to sing.
Sometimes we just have to ride thru the storms to find the beauty that is right in our own backyard π So with that being said, as of November 29 there will be Hobe Sound Tea Room no more. As for the rumors created by other area shop keepers that have swirled well that's up to you to decide? Chances are their talking about you as a customer as well.
As for the landlords retaliation oh that's all true lol π I mean how dare I leave a guy that thinks he's first class, and loved by all? Hopefully he will fix the roof and the flooding for the new tenant. As for the documents pasted all over the front of our glass let that be red flag who this guy really is. As for the rumor of our rent not being paid? That is simply not true, just another crazy guy who needs to spew lies to save face.
So happily it's back to Jupiter where it all began in a Big House next to the Lake that's all our own. It's truly time to turn the page. π and start a new chapter with Happiness, Laughter & Cheer and the greatest start to a wonderful New Year!
Barbara from the Beach House will be hosting this years March of the Bagpipers November 26th at 4:30 down bridge road. So get your lawn chairs out or pop a squat. Everyone knows it's a wonderful parade. It's been a pleasure serving you all.
