The Galveston County Fair & Rodeo is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer Maus as the association’s new Fair Manager, following an extensive hiring process and a series of in-depth interviews.
Maus will oversee the daily operations of the Fair office, supporting the executive board, board of directors, volunteers, sponsors and community members. Her focus will include efficient office administration, financial tracking, and effective communication to ensure fair operations run smoothly year-round. She will also manage logistics for Fair events and build community partnerships to enhance outreach and impact. Maus will officially assume her new role on November 10.
“Throughout the interview process, Jennifer demonstrated the professionalism, integrity and practical know-how we need to strengthen our daily operations,” said James Menotti, board president. “Her leadership experience and long-standing commitment to the Fair community make her the perfect fit to guide us into an exciting new chapter.”
Maus is no stranger to the Fair. A lifetime member of the Galveston County Fair, she has served on the Cookoff Committee for more than a decade and has been deeply involved as a former show mom, supporting her two sons who exhibited steers and pigs at the Fair.
She brings more than 25 years of experience in accounting, human resources and business management. Her expertise in policy and procedure development, contract review and organizational leadership will be instrumental in supporting the continued growth and success of the Galveston County Fair & Rodeo.
A Santa Fe native, Maus graduated from Santa Fe High School and the University of Houston–Downtown. Beyond her involvement with the Fair, she has demonstrated a strong dedication to youth and community development, serving as past president and board member of the Bay Area Youth Football League.
The Fair Board extends its sincere appreciation to the interview committee for their time and dedication throughout the selection process.
Planning is already underway for the 2026 Galveston County Fair & Rodeo, scheduled for April 17–25, 2026. The upcoming Fair is currently running a membership drive, implementing a revamped sponsorship program and hosting multiple livestock events as preparations begin for next year’s activities.
Since its founding in 1938, the Galveston County Fair & Rodeo has continued to promote agriculture, youth development and community spirit. Each year, the Fair provides local youth with opportunities to showcase their talents, hard work and dedication while fostering a love for livestock, rodeo and family traditions.
