The Hiram Cultural Center Soldiers Memorial Library Tues/Sat 9:30-12:30, Wed/Thurs 10:30-5. Arts Center @8 Hancock Hiram, Maine Call (207)625-4650 for more information.

Soliders Memorial Library is located at 85 Main Street in Hiram. The library is open Tuesday from 9:30 to 12:30, Wednesday & Thursday from 10:30-5:00, and Saturday from 9:30 to 12:30. The Arts Center at 8 Hancock is located at 8 Hancock Avenue in Hiram. The building is available for rentals as well as classes, workshops and concerts.

📝Join us tomorrow at the poetry salon! We'll welcome local poets Katherine Hagopian Berry and Melinda Thomas to the Arts Center at 8 Hancock on Wednesday, October 21st at 11:30am. Light refreshments will be provided.

🍁Katherine Hagopian Berry (she/her) is the author of Mast Year (Littoral Books 2020), Land Trust (NatureCulture, 2022), Orbit (Toad Hall Editions, 2022) and Handfast (NatureCulture, 2025). Katherine has had work in many literary magazines including Café Review, SWWIM, and Feral. Her poems have appeared in the Portland Press Herald, on Maine NPR and in multiple anthologies including Balancing Act Il and Writing the Land.

🌻Melinda Thomas has published poems in a wide variety of literary journals, including Prairie Schooner, Ploughshares, Calyx, the Massachusetts Review and Southern Review. After earning her MFA in Poetry at UMAS, she won a fellowship to University College of Dublin to study with Irish poets Seamus Heaney and Eavan Boland. She is the author of Love Letters To A Paper City: Poems of History, Myth and Unforgetting.
