Over the past few days, we’ve had so many new faces join our community. If that’s you, we’re so glad you’re here.

For those who don’t know us, we’re Lana and Andrew—the founders of WNY Fungi Fest.

What started as conversations on hiking trails, mushroom hunts, and a shared love of nature has grown into a vision for something bigger: a festival that brings people together through education, exploration, music, wellness, and community.

We’re creating the kind of event we wished already existed.

A place where beginners can learn about mushrooms without feeling intimidated.

A place where families can spend quality time together outdoors.

A place where music, nature, wellness, creativity, and mycology all come together in one unforgettable weekend.

Whether you’re a seasoned forager, curious about cultivation, interested in wellness, or simply looking for a unique experience in Western New York, there’s a place for you here.

And we’re just getting started.

We’re excited to welcome Sarah from Sarah to WNY Fungi Fest!

Sarah is deeply intrigued by the unique experiences and stories that shape each individual.

Through her practice of energy work and divination—primarily tarot—she has found meaningful ways to connect with others on a spiritual level, creating experiences that are both rewarding and deeply fulfilling.

Art has become an equally important part of that journey, serving not only as a creative outlet but also as an extension of her spiritual practice.

One of the things Sarah enjoys most is hearing how others connect with and interpret her work through the lens of their own personal experiences and perspectives.

Wow, we did not expect so many of you to love our grow room tour!

We’re doing full guided mushroom walks, workshops, live music, and bringing together the whole local mycology community.

🍄 Ever wondered how mushrooms are actually grown?

During a podcast interview to help promote WNY Fungi Fest last week, one of the questions I was asked was, “How are mushrooms cultivated?”

So we thought we’d give you a little behind-the-scenes look.

This short video was filmed inside the growing room at Heartland Organics Mushroom Farm, where you can see just a glimpse of the fascinating environment where gourmet mushrooms thrive.

One of our goals with WNY Fungi Fest is to make mycology more approachable and accessible—whether you’re an experienced grower, an avid forager, or simply curious to learn something new.

There’s an entire world beneath the surface, and we’re excited to help more people discover it.
