ALEXANDRE CHARPENTIER (1856-1909)

Grande Tuilerie d’Ivry, 1898

A beautifully designed, text-heavy poster featured in Les Maîtres de l’Affiche—a monthly subscription series issued in the late 1800s in Paris. With the dense lettering, Charpentier maintains balance and elegance. The design was later recognized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
