The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Hawaii Island starting late tonight through Tuesday.

A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for possible flooding to occur.

The Hawaii County Police Department reports Kilauea Ave. in Hilo between Moho`uli and Pauahi Streets is closed due to downed utility poles.
The road will be closed until all repairs can be completed. Motorists, please avoid this area of Kilauea Ave. and use alternate routes.
You will be notified when road is reopened.
