So proud of our Hip-hop dancers that competed in the Spotlight Dance competition this past weekend. We entered 2 pieces (Tea Party and Yong Warriors). Tea Party placed first and Yong Warriors placed 2nd out of the 11 routines that were in the Future Gem Teen Small Group division. Both also won their category age group division: Tea Party (Future Gem Hip-hop Small Group age 14) and Yong Warriors (Future Gem Hip-hop Small Group age 13). Tea Party received the Best Costume award out of 59 teen/senior/adult group routines. Both routines received the Diamond rating (highest rating based on individual score).

So proud of this amazing Jazz trio that competed at the Spotlight dance competition this past weekend. Their emotion and connection was so beautiful to watch. They received the Ruby rating (2nd highest rating based on individual score).

So proud of our singers that participated in the Spotlight Vocal competition this weekend

Kaluhea Kekaualua- received the Diamond rating (highest rating based on individual score), won the 14 year old vocal solo division (out of 12 singers), came in 3rd overall out of 44 vocalists age 13-19, and she received the award for Best in Showmanship (out of 82 singers).

Tehani Lawson- received the Diamond rating (highest rating based on individual score), came in 9th overall out of 44 vocalists age 13-19, and won the Cut above award (out of 82 singers). ”Cut Above” award is given to the best well rounded performer in the areas of Showmanship, Entertainment, Costume, and technical skill.

Nahla- Ruby rating (2nd highest rating based on individual score)

Stella- Ruby rating (2nd highest rating based on individual score)

Group vocal (Abrea, Kaluhea, Tehani, Stella)- Ruby rating (2nd highest rating based on individual score). Also received a first place trophy for the group vocal division

This contemporary twist on a classic story is centered on a young lady named Alina (Abrea Hahn). On Alina's 16th birthday she is gifted a magical Nutcracker experience, an idea that was conjured up by her grandmother before she passed away. It all starts with a mystical looking pink box with a lock and no key. After a spectacular birthday party put on for her by her Uncle Kolokio (Maika Woods) at his mansion, Alina is led on a journey to find the key to the mysterious pink box. The journey takes her through an intense battle between life size rats and noble soldiers where she saves the soldiers and their handsome leader, the Nutcracker Prince (Garret De Soto), from utter destruction. She then continues her quest along side the Prince to the Land of Snowflakes, the Land of Amusements, the Land of Sweets, and the Land of Flowers. Along the way she learns valuable life lessons, but will she ever find the key to the special pink box from her late Grandmother? Come find out!
