Swing dancing has existed in some form on Hillsdale's campus since the 1950s, in the post-World War II era of jazz and big band music. Today, the Hillsdale Hepcats host weekly swing dances, as well as swing dance parties throughout the academic year, in celebration of the joy that swing dancing continues to bring to Hillsdale students.
