Thank you to everyone who performed, watched, and participated in The Winter's Tale. Sadly, the pictures begin rather late (in Act 4) and do not capture the magnificence of our audience participant Bear and many other happenings. But let us not allow such trifles to mar our spirits. It was all hilarious and impressive to see how people improvised with the staging so cleverly. A special shoutout to Helen Schlueter in particular. You all are a witty bunch.
Be on the watch for auditions for the Spring. Covid shall not foil us this time 'round! Here's to this year, and here's to next year!

Happy summer, everyone! For those students new to theatre who might be considering joining Arbspeare in 2018-2019, here are some humorous tips from the great Ian McKellen (whose portrayal of King Lear is the stuff of mad genius). Enjoy;)

Thanks to all who auditioned for the Merchant of Venice! Cast lists should be up be the middle-end of next week. Just as a note-- though some people will be called back for a second reading, just because you do not receive a call back does not mean you will not be cast. We have so many decisions to make, and the amount of talents displayed this week makes that process both exciting and agonizing:)

I saw so much talent and enthusiasm in those auditions. It was a joy to watch. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. ~Molly Kate

Hello Shakespeareans,

Auditions for the Merchant of Venice are this Wednesday and Thursday in the Black Box. Wednesday auditions are from 6 to 9 pm, while Thursday auditions are from 7 - 10 pm. Sign up sheets are outside the blackbox! Try and get your hands on a copy of the script before auditions and give it a read through. It will help your audition process to be somewhat familiar with the show.

If you are nervous about auditions, don't let that stop you from coming out. It is a really good time, even if you have not acted before. We will walk you through the audition process when you arrive.

We are excited to see you there!

Good afternoon, Shakespeare fans! Auditions are still a few weeks out, but if you're looking for a dash of Shakespeare to quench that mid-November thirst for great poetry and theatre, we've got you covered!

The Details: Saturday, 11/9, 3 PM, E. Fayette St.

THIS SATURDAY, (that's right as in just TWO DAYS from now), you all have the wonderful opportunity to come to Shakespeare in the Arb's reading of King Lear, a delightfully complex, compelling and interesting play, one so crazy and deeply intricate that Dr. Jackson refuses to teach it at Hillsdale!

Come expecting and hoping to read beautiful and poetic language, wrestle with dark and difficult themes, and also hopefully just have a really great time enjoying a break from school and the company of many wonderful fans of the bard gathered together in one location.

“When we are born, we cry that we are come to this great stage of fools.”
