Today, we need to slow down from our ordinary pace of life and remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation.
Memorial Day is more than the beginning of summer and a long weekend. This day is a sacred civic observance, set aside to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we might live in freedom.

Their sacrifice is often forgotten along with the freedoms we too often take for granted. While we cannot repay that debt, we can remember it faithfully and live in a manner worthy of their sacrifice.
